Get under the hood with Probe at Automechanika

Automechanika, South Africa’s leading international trade fair for the automotive service industry, will kick off from 27-30 September at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec.

Probe, South Africa’s largest importer of premium, maintenance-free, fit and forget batteries and provider of ‘the complete power package’ in auto electrics, will be packing a powerful punch at this year’s fair.

Established in 1963, Probe provides distribution and aftermarket support for world-class batteries, alternators, starters and associated spares for a range of vehicles, including American, European and Asian vehicles, through a national dealer network. The expanding range includes engine cooling fans and viscous fan clutches, lamps and work lights. “Probe is committed to providing quality and service, availability and technical expertise for every power need - the complete power package throughout the lifespan of a vehicle,” says CEO Frank Rovelli. “We do this by providing new, re-manufactured, genuine and approved replacement parts as well as the highest quality approved workshop and repair facilities – making Probe much more than just a wholesaler.”

Probe will be showcasing some of the company’s most popular auto electrical products from premium brands, including Delco Remy, Bosch, Prestolite/Leece Neville, C.E. Niehoff and Horton, so that visitors can get up close and personal to what goes on – or should be going on - under the hood. “As vehicle operational requirements become more challenging – for longer durations, in tougher terrains, and higher operating costs, automotive products and rotating electrics have to have high levels of tolerance and faultless performance ability,” says Rovelli.  “We’ll be showing visitors how to get the best value and make the right choices when it comes to power and parts.”

On display will be premium alternators, such as those produced by Delco Remy, which offer a superb product thanks to the company’s continued commitment to finding innovative solutions to meet market challenges.  In fact, Delco Remy heavy-duty starters have been used in military markets for over a hundred years, which is an indication of their robust, hard-wearing capabilities. Alternators such as those produced by Niehoff, in particular the specialist CEN, require less engine horsepower and fuel so as to produce a high output over sustained periods.

Another favourite on display will be Probe’s fit and forget batteries.  “Our complete range of Probe batteries are maintenance free which means they do not require service during their operating life.  While other companies may promise a truly sealed battery, only Probe batteries have the product offering that incorporates the best in battery solutions.  It’s worth having a close inspection and chatting to the team about the key differences to look out for,” says Rovelli.

A second stand at Automechanika will introduce the latest addition to Probe’s offering:  premium, high quality air compressors across the spectrum, from home use to heavy duty industrial machines.   Probe is excited to launch the Stanley range of air compressors and tools later this year.  Rovelli says, “Premium air products are absolutely key in a diversity of sectors, from mining and agriculture through to hospitality.  Our goal is to ensure the availability of high quality and durable air compression units and the necessary aftermarket back-up for the South African market.”

And if all this doesn’t get your engines revving, come and try out the Team Probe race car simulators and put Probe’s automotive know-how to the test! If Team Probe isn’t racing on the ‘track’,  be sure to join them at the Pit Stop bar to talk automotive parts, rotating electrics and air compressors.

Probe can be located at Automechanika from 27 – 30 September, 2017 in Hall 5, Stand 5C005 for automotive components, and Hall 5, Stand 5D10 for air compressors.
